i remember the night it moved in 86, they ran it the wrong way through the ville marie tunnel, up viau street through maisoneuve park and down onto the field through the marathon door, they broke in every half hour on the tv and on CBC they covered it live the whole way. this roof sat for years in canadian car and foundry (the building in the pic)

My dad had to move a crane for a company in Boston (J.F. WHite) and it was about mid night so there wiould be no traffic, and the lead escort went through the thether district, right when all the shows were getting out. Ofcourse they were over weight, and they had a cop with them who must of been an idiot, because the tracks were hanging 5 feet off the low bed.

speaking of large loads and olympic stadium, when it was built all the concrete was cast in st-eustache quebec, a 45 minute drive from the stadium site (by car) the entire building was trucked. From what i read, pie ix boulevard (a major artery) was in horrible shape by the time the olympics rolled around
