Butterfly.
Buzzard mating season??
Very common turtle in my area.
This guy seemed sick, kept swaying side to side.
I would like to know the species name of these owls, very common around here.
If you see an incorrect GPS entry in the DB, FIX IT! |

I think I'm in LOVE!!! I'm a deer hunter, so I like the Buck picture! O heck really like them all, you ROCK!

Its hard to tell in that pic but that theres el muy grande buck standing next to that 10ft fence. He was awesome. I was lucky to get that shot because I had been shooting inside, manual exposure set for the dark, I just came out into the light when I jumped him! Had to re-expose & re-focus thats the last shot of about 6 that didnt turn out.

A pearl crescent, I believe. Phyciodes tharos
Either black vultures or turkey vultures, probably just riding a good thermal uplift. Though not particularly social, they're commonly seen like this.
Eastern box turtle, Terrapene carolina. And 2X had it just right on the owls, though I would remark that Tyto alba is found nearly worldwide - I've seen one in Viet Nam!

I can't believe you got so close to those owls. That's really cool. I've tried to sneak up on them before without luck- they are the ninjas of the air. Also, I would like a turtle of my very own.

I love the picture of that muley! I think it is great that you take pictures of all the "creatures" you come across while exploring. It makes for a nice addition....thank you for sharing!
