I was in Eloy driving line Friday and spotted like five abandoned places all on the same stretch of road. I was hauling ass to get work done and get home, so I didn't have time to go into anything, but I'm driving down to Tucson tomorrow and will try to take 30 minutes and get some interior shots. Seems like an easy hike for a nice handful of sites.
Note: This is a big agricultural area, which means migrant workers, which means a lot of really poor people who might be living in these houses. Not that you should be too cautious of anything other than disturbing people who probably work way too hard.
Directions Eloy is between Casa Grande and Tucson. These abandonments are on Sunshine Blvd (Exit 208, iirc), south of the freeway. All are on the right side of the road, from appx 1.5 miles down to 8 miles.
House 1 First one down. While obviously abandoned and beat to hell, this is sitting basically in the front yard of a normal looking house that's only about 200 yards away. I imagine there would be a good chance you'd get a visit if you wander in but it's obvious people have been in here plenty of times.
House 2 Set back a ways I think about 2.5 miles down, and at least from the road the windows look smashed and weeds and etc.
Houses (?) 3 4 miles down. Concrete walls, one room, windows... seriously, did people live in these? I sure hope these were just storage rooms or something.
House 4 and Store About 8 miles down, at the intersection with Green Reservoir Road at the SW corner. Pictured is the store, behind it is at least one house-like structure that I wish I had gotten a shot of. This'll probably be the one I go to tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to visit any of these places, unfortunately. Will have to wait until I can get some free time someday... or maybe someone else from Phoenix can do the dirty work for me.
