New Toys!

Alright so I have a couple new cameras in my armoury now.

Nikon F80 with a Sigma 28-300mm lens, and a Ensign Ranger II.

I've already run a roll (120) through the Ranger II so I'll post up the results (if they're any good).

I'd never heard of an Ensign before. Nice looking camera.

I also just got a F80 for 150$. It rocks. I can use my 17-35 to its fullest now.

Oh yeah! Next you should get a MB-16 Battery grip, changes the whole feel of the camera. Plus a 24mm f/2.8 lens.

I'm skeptical about the Sigma 28-300mm. Such a huge range for such a crappy brand. I'd really suggest you buy a 50mm 1.8, you can get a used one for super cheap.

my new toy is a canon 10-22mm (15-35mm equivalent in 35mm) for digital, I'm used to my old vivitar 20mm for my very old pentax, but I'm kind of astonished by how wide and well the canon works.

Yeah of my friends who is a Canon shooter has that lens. I played around with it and it's so fucking wide. I really want the Sigma 10-20 for my Nikon... 15mm of fun! I played with Control-mans 10-20 on his 10D and I really liked it. Built quality seemed excellent and I know he loves that lens.

I've stopped using the sigma, it wasn't performing that well. I have since gotten a Nikon Nikkor AF-G 70-300mm and the Nikkor AF-D 50mm f/1.8 like you suggested.

thanks for the tips!

I think that the older 70-210 F4-5.6 is an excellent value. Rage is decent and quality is very good, much better than the shitty 70-300 IMO. The 70-210 AF F4 constant is also another great lens.
