Polygraph information
< on 8/30/2006 4:44 AM >

I know many people in the law enforcement, and intelligence community rely on the poly graph test to verify information. I personally have always had issues with this system of verification, but its nice to see some people are attempting to do more then point fingers. Granted this site is a little bit extremist in its approach, but I believe they have great info on tap as well.

That is a very well established resource.
Hands down the most robust and best informed reference on the matter.
Polygraphs are going away and will soon be replaced by much more advanced (and scientifically valid) methods and equipment.

I don't know about in the States, but in canada there are some "Places/Agencies" that offer free training on how to beat a polygraph test, and not only beat it, but manipulate it, and the person administering it.

Yeah, I am sure, that is sweet! Here you'd pay a hefty sum for that.
BUT If you desire to manipulate a polygraph, hypothetically, good advice would be to drop the dime and submit to this.
Simply applying the techniques and tactics described on the website will see you 'failing' the poly and ruining your chances of whatever you were trying to do.
It's all about the baseline.

While seeking work in the law enforcement field, I have taken at least three polygraph tests and a voice stress analyzer. I lied my ass off but remained calm, having read the lie detector book by Scott French. The baseline definately is the thing to manipulate and I was able to do so by clenching my buttocks to raise the blood pressure and stress response for the question where they want you to lie. Using arid extra dry anti-perspirant on my fingers kept the sweat from revealing my stress. I was worried that the cops would check my shoes for a tack, so I used just the ass squeeze. I also used body language techniques (looked em right in the eye, kept arms uncrossed), and when they asked me what I knew about the polygraph, I told them that it was very reliable and was accurate 95 % of the time; this made them sure that they could manipulate me. "Well officer, you wouldn't be using the polygraph if it didn't work, would you?" I was ready to go ballistic if they claimed that I was lying, I would have shouted, "You said this machine is reliable and accurate !" However, I never had to resort to such dramatics, I passed each time.
