Question: Why is pushing Pan F generally considered a poor idea?
The reason I ask is because I went away recently, and was very unprepared in terms of film, etc. I grabbed some Pan-F out of the fridge but, later when I loaded it, having realized that such a slow film wouldn't suit my needs, I pushed it to 200.
I haven't yet learned to develop/print (though I'm taking a class soon), so I got it printed at my local lab. The results were really fantastic, and very much what I was hoping for in terms of tonality, etc. So, what's the big deal with pushing Pan F?
I should add that the film was roughly 8 months old, but since it was stored well, I don't think that should have changed anything.
