Just picked this book up from B&N when I went to pick up my copy of Access All Areas (Ninj's book, for those of you who may not know). I've barely cracked the spine on this one, but it looks like a worthy read (and it's freakin' huge). Claims to be "AF Regulation 64-4" and "Reprint of Department of the Air Force Field Manual." Mentioned on the back (because the Table of Contents is long): *Forecasting the weather *Building shelter (from teepees to snow caves) *Starting fires in (almost) any condition *Finding nourishment and avoiding poisonous animals (on land or at sea) *Fashioning clothing from available materials *Navigating in all types of situations and environments *Maintaining good hygiene and battling illness in the wild *Surviving chemical, biological, and nuclear disasters I figure this will be a worthy companion to my copy of the U.S. Army Survival Manual from 1991. ~Path

Its actually a very good book. I would supplement it with some Tom Brown. That book will keep you alive combat TB will keep you alive in comfort and security.
