Scheider Angulon on 4x5

Is anyone familar with them? Specifically the 90mm f8 Super Angulon. The local "indie" photo store has one and I'm pondering it (and may end up with it anyway if I go by there today, but any input is still appreciated).

I haven't used one, but they're generally pretty highly-regarded. The 90/8 will be a bit dark, but it's at least pretty easy to focus a somewhat wide angle lens.

Yeah, the difference between the 8 and the 5.6 is about a tripling in price from what I can tell. Of course that might be the peculiarity of this particular store. But for that much I can just use a dark cloth and squint.

Should be useful for UE, being about the equivalent to a 35mm lens on 35mm format. I have wanted to pick up a 90mm, but have to restrain myself for financial reasons. What are you going to pay for said lens, If you don't mind me asking?

Are you familiar with keh.com yet? You should get familiar with it. Their used prices tend to be very good.

Yeah, I got all three of my current 35mm/digital lenses from KEH (among some other misc stuff). But in this case, they want either $499 or $645 for the lens in question (depending on what shutter it's in), while at the local store I ultimately paid about $325, and got a free lensboard for it. And it's in almost new condition, and the guy claims it had just been cleaned (in any case, the times seem fine).

These guys are pretty good to deal with and they do a mail order business (and I live about 5 blocks from them).

I'll take it out this weekend and hopefully have some results.

I have been looking at an F3HP body, and 2 35mm lenses all rated at BGN. I have heard the rate very conservatively, and the stuff is priced very well. Anyone have experience with BGN keh equipment?

I've heard good things about mpex, but I just never seem to find very good deals on their site! I bet they're really nice in person, though.

And in terms of BGN gear from keh.com, I've heard completely the opposite - BGN is to be avoided.
