I think something needs to be established -

This is not a place to compliment without critique. Unless you can say something that is critical of someone's work, don't post. That's what the regular photo board is for - attracting hordes of "OOOOh you are the greatest!" people.

Someone back me up.

I agree... I'm not going to post "that sucks and get a new hobby" but try and offer some tip that might help. It's my opinion though so what does it matter?

Exactly.

You can still admire someone's work, and you can still post without negative feedback, but the point is feedback beyond a typical "crotch patting" I suppose.
However, I think some of the regular posters who are amazing photographers will not receive much negative feedback, and that is because they do not really deserve it. Nonetheless, they are still open to it.

Yeah, but I'm still waiting to see posts from Mr. Motts, Nicksan, robdobi, thelean... the regulars.

If people post their tourist pics and photo documentation in the main forum, and their artistic photos in this forum, what's the point of the photography forum?

The UE Photography Board:

discussions related to photography, and photos related to UE

This one:

the place to post your art photos and have others critique them

I guess

There's a lot of gray in there.

The following sentence is false. The preceding sentence is true.

Ergh... that's not a critique. That's a personal opinion about the shots. You can dislike something and still provide constructive criticism beyond "I don't like it."

This has probably been one of the best features of UER for me. I love posting pictures and learning more about the art of photography from the, so called, "elitists". This has helped me hone my artistic skills a lot, appreciate it for what its worth.

Leave only footprints, take only pictures... unless its like really cool.
