Don't pay them.
They then have two choices:
1. they can take you to court, and If you can prove you gave notice you might win, or
2. they can just give up on trying to collect the money from you which they might do if it's already been awhile.
It's worth a try.

They already did take us to court. The judgement was decided without me being there. The judge ruled, I owe money.

What were you're OPEX plans like? Is there some way you could simply do it ghetto-style, like me and Dan (ETMJ) are probably going to do? we'll have to see - we've been thinking that since it's pretty close to us anyway, we can just make day trips over there and not have to get hotels. Then again with the price of gas these days it would probably be the same amount getting a hotel as it would be driving back and forth. Ah. We'll have to check our funds as time draws near.
