I'm having a problem sourting through the 507 posts on this thred. Has anyone else been in the tunnles? OK. I lived in Victoria for 3 years. I have been in the tunnles that i belive you are all talking about. I was in a tattoo shop in Market Square. Pair 'O' Dice Tattoo. My wife and i have had lots of work done there. One time i was needing a smoke and was going to go outside but the tattoo artist told me to just go to a room in the back of the shop. It was a weird room with a brick arched celing like a tunnle. The side walls was poorly finnish with what seemed to be scrap wood. There was a chunk of wood missing from the wall missing about 2 feet by 3 feet. When back there I looked through the hole and it was dark. When the artist came back there i asked what's in there and he said that it's part of a undergound tunnle system. He handed me a little pen light and i shawn it through the hole. I could see that the tunnel continued about 30 feet and then there was another wall. Brick this time. The artist said that the tunnel runs under Johnson street and joins another that runs under Wharf Street. There a brick retainind wall down by the water front and you can see what looked like doors bricked over on it. He didn't say what the tunnles were used for and didn't kknow much more than that. It didn't look like sewer or water ways. I told myself that i'd explore them but unfortunatly i moved away. The Gothvic group did do some exploring though. Check it out. http://www.gothvic...wItem&g2_itemId=98 Not the tunnles in question though. I have a friend who is going to go to university there and when i go and visit, we'll see about doing some exploring.

Pretty much what I'm talking about. What else ya got?

Yeah, this is one of the Bowker Creek drains mentioned previously somewhere back in the thread.

So tonight Thing, Peterman, Tanuki and I drilled the test hole. We drilled through 10 inches of concrete and another 5 inches into dirt. Alas, no tunnel. We even hammered a thin probe another 2 feet into the dirt but found nothing. It was a fun project nonetheless!

Cool story frogmonster! Thanks for the info! Maybe these delivery tunnels still exist closer to store st.

good show,,surekill ,,that was a close one,, aaaa well keep on tryin,'' I was looking at a map of vic last night ,,for the pentagram,, and i noticed that their is a mason st. in victoria ,, i wonder if it has anything to do with the mason guys and the tunnels ,,??

meggaman, id assume yes, mason streat has something to do with masons.. and also tunnels. thats why its called mason street. just marking territory. the key to solving this mystery is thinking back in the old days, not in the present.

Good point, Mavrix. So, when you go exploring tunnels, you need to make sure that you wear your candle headlamps and don't forget your canaries to test for bad air. C.

Yes, it's clearly at the centre of a pentagram connecting the Parliament Building, Government House, Blanshard Park, Cedar Hill and, ah, the Safeway at the intersection of Fort and Foul Bay Road. Except if the tunnels form a pentagram then there'd be nothing underground at the centre of them. And the buildings on Mason Street are from the turn of the century or later. And there are Mason Streets in a goodly number of other cities around North America and the world. There's a Mason Street in Melbourne, Australia, but you can bet that if there were esoteric black magic tunnels to be found there, the Cave Clan would have uncovered them ten years ago.

The key to "solving" this mystery is clearly to assemble as many random bits of information, twice-removed from any sense of context, point to the pile and declare from three time zones away "Thare Arrrr TUNNELS Tharrrr!" Bonus points if you've never been to Victoria in your life.

mhuhahaha
*laughs* is that all ya got??! is the only thing you can do is mock my words? let me try pretending to be u.. lets make fun of your lame magick where you carry spiders on your shoulders to summon buses and trains? I summon gas into my car.. please explain your spider magick

EXACTLY. Maybe every Mason St. is connected through this vast underground tunnel network. Maybe I can actually get from Mason St.in Victoria to a Mason St. in London England. That would be nice. And it would save me from having to deal with those shitheads at Air Canada. Which would be super.

Your logic is spellbinding (no pun intended).

Mavrix implored please explain your spider magick |
I'm standing on the pavement, a lamppost tracing the sky just above Mars, a few people milling on the bus platform. At this late hour, the route we need is only due every twenty or thirty minutes. We haven't looked at our watches, we haven't looked at the schedule. I stand on the pavement and raise my head to the planet, red-tinged light being plucked into streaks as it runs down our atmosphere, streaks that straddle its little puddle of sky like a crane fly on the living room wall. I imagine the crane flies in my hair, just above my ears, I feel a spider on my shoulder, I begin to chant a handful of random syllables that have risen to my throat at this moment, varying the order and intonation as I repeat them. And while I'm doing this, I'm moving my upper body so that the lamp post eclipses the planet and then retreats, again and again for a minute or so. In my mind, I ask for a bus. In my mind, I visualize the bus at the intersection behind me, where the lights usually force it to stop before crossing to turn into the bus loop. And at the end I think my thanks and bow my head a couple of times. When I'm done, no more than a minute later, I turn around and smile at my friend on the platform. I take my first step back across the pavement and glance to the entrance, where the bus is just pulling in. There was more reality there than you've managed to produce in fifteen pages of nattering about secret tunnels in a city you've never visited.

No, never.

Kawasaki, more reality ther? Doubtfull. Did you manage to repeat this little wishfull thinking? I bet not.
Hey btw if you hadnt noticed, thers a reason to my rantings and such, its to get people talking so that I can get more information, no matter if its rumors, rantings, stories or whatever. Im just very excited about this thats all. Forgive my crazy beliefs.

Yeah, actually, it's something I've done fairly regularly over the past two+ years. [I can't believe mavrix just uttered the term "wishful thinking."]

What I truly cannot believe is that there are some explorers of worth in Vic and nothing can really be found. Some tunnel pix easily explained, and... ? Having lived there myself for 3 years in the early 90s, I heard all the same rumours and looked around a bit myself, but nothing. I just can't believe that if there was anything of substance to be found that you guys wouldn't have found it by now. Maybe there was something, long ago, that is no longer there. Happens with many things, be they natural or man-made. Sewers, drains, a tunnel or two, a coal chute and maybe a criminal activity or five. Add many years to the recipe and here we are. If they are filled in, nothing can be proven. If they are drains blown out of proportion, then we can seen that. If they are just little bits here and there, we have almost proven that. But, the big question is, what is everyone looking for? Does anyone really think there is some massive pentagram tunnel system used by and international Bush-loving Satan-worhsipping cannibal cult? Only Mavrix thinks that... But let me ask Kubla and Tanuki and the others, what is it you think you actually might find? In all seriousness. If the question can be properly formed, then the answer becomes easier to find. With all the crazy rantings and odd suggestions, never mind the occasional tangent, we seem to have gotten away from specifics. Why not clearly define the objective? Then list the potential evidence to date. That should lead to a hopefully productive next line of investigation, yes? As I said, I lived in Vic, I looked for the tunnels. I am fantastically interested in what might (or might not) be there. But I think people need to get back on track and start putting their heads together. Bickering and name calling don't help, nor do otherworldly ravings. Let's have some facts! P.S. Being a Mason, you guys put WAY too much into it... old guys and beer seem to be the main point. If there were goats or anything fancy, I'd be the first to tell you ;)

Well we wouldn't find anything if we didn't look! There's actually quite a few cool locations around here. For instance I was in this neat little crawl space under a building along the waterfront last night. Half of it was filled with seawater. Then we went into that drain that KublaKhan showed pics of at the beginning of this thread, went at least 100m meters in before we where exhausted. It basically goes from the Johnson St bridge up to market square and then north up Store St to Pandora, possibly beyond. We also figured out exactly whats underneath the "coal chute". The Burrow of the Beast is really awesome. Anyway, I think adding to the list of locations is the main point. If there's lots of fun rumours about some of these locations then all the better. It adds to the mystique.
