hello not sure if anyone still frequents this thread so ill post for posterity. i’ve been reading through this entire thread for the past little while and it’s been really inspiring. recently i went out and explored the hall of wonders and it got me really excited about urbex. i’ll post some pics even though there are already many of this location. it was definitely disappointing to see so many of the original artworks spray painted over, wish i had seen them in all their glory. i also checked out the northern junk but the floodlights were definitely a deterrent haha. if anyone is out there and is up for some exploring let me know.

Greetings. I've spent the past month following clues found here and discretely checking out manholes and outflows around the city, and it's been quite a trip. I'm hooked. I found the various interactive maps along with Google maps to be very helpful in tracing the main drains talked about here. This morning at 4 I went to what I believe is an entrance to the Burrow, which I'm really keen to visit. Love to explore it with someone who has been.
My respect to all who have contributed to this amazing forum!

Looks like the chasm is getting the same treatment as the graveyard did a few years back.

Indeed - very sad!

It was definitely due with the longitudinal crack along the ceiling.

Still haven't been in the section downstream of the diversion, which looks like it's safe from rehab for a little while yet....

I've gone as far as what I'm guessing is the next junction after you turned around, a bit south of the bigger park there. The main pipe transitions to RC and two smaller ones intersect. I was hoping to find a connection to the other big wooden drain here, but I think it does just keep going forever. You're going upstream, so it ends up branching out into more and more smaller and smaller pipes.

The smaller of the two pipes at the entrance actually has a wooden section too. It runs underneath the park and there are manholes on both ends if you want to take a peek without the long slog.

Bowker's Woodie is worth checking out if you haven't yet.

(Warning: random drain picture heavy post)

More not-secret tunnels, but this might be an interesting piece of the puzzle for anyone nerdy about the (underground) history here. I believe this is what's left of the Johnson Street Ravine: the original culverts build to facilitate roads crossing it before it was covered/filled. I haven't found any definite dates on when they were constructed, but I would guess no later than the 1880s, and possibly as early as when HBC did the initial road layout (you can see the crossings in 1860s maps, but may have been bridges, and by 1890 the ravine was mostly covered.) If that's the case, they would be some of the oldest extant infrastructure in the city, predating the general sewage system and other drains like the Burrow and nearby Excruciation by several decades.

(Huge thanks to Rhino604 for making this possible.)

The portals were bricked over when buildings were constructed in the ravine, with smaller clay pipes carrying the flow beneath:

WOW I like the cool brick egg tunnels you have here. Is that a drain or a sewer? These tunnels look like the drains and sewers we have here in MSP. Great work!
Small but interesting brick side pipes:

Part of it is. There is a public post on it here from brandon250 if you dig back a bit. It has a nice chill outfall in a little park, but you'll need chest waders and/or an Explorer 200 to get in. It levels out to ~shin/ankle deep once you're past the initial RC section.

Fireman's Slide is also under a park, but way down the other direction. There is also a cool short section between that and the HoW that is easy to access and often has really good graf.

I'll leave it at that to give you something to hunt None of the Bowker stuff is hard to find but feel free to hit me up if you're stuck.

I haven't been back in a few years, but yep. It might be the best place in North America for underground urbex. Amazing locations and good people to explore them with.

Very nice drain picture! I've explored drains like this that are oval shaped. Is this tunnel walkable height? It's kind of hard to tell (LOL).

Ha Ha that's fine. I'm 5'7", so that tells me that tunnel is about 6 feet tall. Does that sound about right to you?
