A new X-Ray machine on trial at heathrow Airport has become the centre of attention. The machine is at the forefront on new security measures being introduced to thwart terrorism. The scanner reveals weapons, gadgets, and a variety of other features, but it also reveals everything else to.
The scanner produces an almost naked image of the subject by bouncing X-Rays off the skin. The device is being jointly operated under controlled supervision by british Airports Authority (BAA) and The Department for Transport (DfT). Once photographed and green-lighted, the person's image is immediately removed from the computer.
The scanner detects outlines of plastic explosives, flat non metallic objects, plastic knives, solids, ceramics etc. The operation will do away with most body searches.
Amazingly, airport and transport officials in the United States of America are refusing to test trial the scanner until it finds more suitable way to conceal certain parts of the human body!
As a side not the photos show a photo shopped naked lady. No hair and a few devices, neckless and earings. Amazing technology.

my dad was watching tv the other night and called me down to show me this. pretty cool stuff, showed a ceramic gun and a plastic knife on the body.

They've had those since the 90's, but 9-11 gave them the balls to use them on the public. They've been testing these at a few airports in the US for a few years: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3071573/
I've heard that there have been lawsuits already, apparently some screeners were having the hottest women go through the scanner slowly, or twice. I have a friend who's in training to be a nail clipper nazi at LAX. I'm sure they're using these at the training setup, so I'll ask him about it.

I used to operate the search train at a nuclear power plant but we (unfortunately) did not have the body scans. Our supervisors would attempt to get test firearms or objects through the search train (explosive scanner, metal detector, and x-ray package scanner). Don't think I can talk about too much since I am forever bound by a non-disclosure agreement about the security at the plant . . . sorry.
However, on my recent trip to Italy last year, I carried a golf ball in a sock. I walked right through the metal detector with no problems. If I had been searched and they found the golf ball/ sock flail . . . "Well Sir, (always be polite to people with guns), this is my lucky golf ball, I hit a hole in one with this ball and I carry it on every plane trip for luck . . . etc, etc, bullsh*#, lie"
One idea that I came up with but the Nuke Power Plant didn't teach me (therefore I can discuss it here) was to wear a head immobilization device or halo. You may have to glue some bolts to your head or tighten the screws against the skin but it will allow you to walk past a metal detector with a metal item under a toupee. If security notices the toupee, you explain that you had to have your head shaved for the operation and you are embarrassed about the hair loss. No guard will want to bend you over at the waist to examine the top of your head, especially if you fake being in pain.
Anyone else have any thoughts on bypassing search train security?

I am not sure about your nuke plant, but my friend worked at one. If you had a Halo style device you had doctors information along with it. It could be possible but I doubt it.
As for metal detectors, there is a folding dive knife that goes right through metal detectors no problem.

Absolutely on the doctor's note and a nuke plant, I was making reference more towards airline security and such, however, no matter where you would attempt this smuggle, some form of hospital or doctor's note should be utilized with the metal halo device. Cold Steel has a new line of plastic knives called Nightshade that include a spike, a push dagger and even a tanto. If I was to attempt to smuggle one through the human x-ray device, I imagine I would hide it under my sock and under my foot where it may be unseen by it's flatness against the floor.
Another of my awesome ideas (lol) is the blueprint spear. You take a plastic pvc pipe about 3 feet long and cut it in two at a 45 degree angle so that both halves have a sharp end. You reconnect it (maybe use some light glue) and wrap your favorite blueprints (inside volcano evil mastermind lair i.e.) around the reconnected pvc pipe. It will pass through a metal detector and it would be hard to see on an x-ray machine. Once inside the protected area, you remove the paper and pull the two shafts apart, giving yourself two sharped tubular knives.

Titanium knives pass right through metal detectors. I trust those more then the damn CIA plastic darts.
