The need to swear... entry by Jennibel 4/6/2005 9:50 PM
| I've always wondered why people think that using swear words will make someone else want to help you... And, no I'm not referring to those that have Tourette's Syndrome. It's usually a good day if I only get sworn at once a day...it doesnt happen often. In dealing with confidential info, most people would appreciate my efforts to keep their account info/business practices safe. I dont really care if the owners wife/husband/bf/gf/or whatever calls in, if they are not listed on the account I am not going to do what they want. Just today I once again was called a f*cking b*itch when I wouldnt release any account info to the 'business manager'--nor would I change the account info based on their request. After I advised that I didnt appreciate the language, he then said 'you had better change the account, you dumb c*nt if you know whats good for you...if your company wants to get paid, youd better give me what I want!' Um, yeah, sure....for one thing, this isnt Burger King & you CANT have it your way. Plus, I can handle just about any name that I am called but the 'c' word is the one that I wont tolerate. I just had to laugh at him at that point...using the 'f' word every other word just means you need to get a dictionary & expand your vocabulary. I just dont think people believe in the saying, 'you catch more flies with honey then you do vinegar'. You can conduct your business in a very professional manner & get your point across without swearing or issuing ultimatums....in fact, you'll get a better response if you dont resort to that. Oh, well...the work day is over. I dont have to deal with that until again tomorrow!
