April 16, 2005 "Architecture is an art," says Frank O. Gehry. "I approach each building as a sculptural object . . . Architecture must solve complex problems." Frank Gehry will join us to discuss his vision and ideas for great architectural design. His buildings are among the most brilliant works of our time and they "provide a beautiful context for life's drama." Karen Van Lengen, dean of the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia, will be the moderator for this program. All programs begin at 8:00 PM at the Landmark Theater. Season subscriptions are available. For information contact The Richmond Forum. http://www.richmondforum.org/default.asp

to tell the truth i'm not fond of Gehry that much... his architectures speak too much, they seem to be just big landmarks, some kind of publicity. ok, maybe i'm just envy... but i wouldn't mind to have the occasion to participate to a debate with him present. If anyone is in Milan (Italy), this thursday there's an open lecture with Francesco Careri, which is the leader of the Stalker group from Rome: they are a group of architects and artists, whom approach planning and projects with urban exploration. For example they roamed around the unknown Rome for three days (if i don't go wrong) taking pictures of the places they visited and writing a diary of the experience. The whole thing had been followed by a private broadcasting.
