I've got a rack-mounted proliant with 4x 450 Xenon processors, 768 ram and 6x 4.3 10,000 RPM drives. Right now is running Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP1 with no problems. My project box right now is a Proliant 1600 PIII machine that I have to track down some RAM for - two 9.1 gb 10,000 "new style" drives and dual-NICs. I'm also running an "evaluation" copy of Server 2K3 on a Thinkpad A22P laptop that has a 900mhz PIII and 128 ram. Just playing around with that one. I may turn it into an RRAS server for my dorm room. ~Grit.

I know it's not exactly what this machine was made to do , but it works great in this respect. I can encode video in less than 1/2 the time it takes on my main computer (which isn't exactly a pansy).
