Why is marijuana not legal? Why is marijuana not legal? Its a natural plant that grows in the dirt. You know what's not natural, 80 year old dudes with hardons. Thats not natural, but we got pills for that. We're dedicating all our resources to keeping the old guys erect but we're puttin people in jail for smoking something that grows in the dirt. |

Hey Av., for older threads which aren't UE related, but are still in this forum, is it ok for one to reply to them, and then they will be moved to the "Other" forum, or should one just start a new thread in "Other"? It looks like some were moved already, but I dunno if somebody is gonna go through to move older ones or not. Just thought that might be helpful to know, doesn't matter much I guess.

If the thread is a relevant topic you may continue to post here.
However, I don't really want there to be any of these non-UE "post pictures of x" threads which serve no purpose. Please don't post on those here, or start similar ones in the Other section. Thanks.

Go ahead and keep posting here, but try to begin moving the not-so-UE-related stuff to the other forum instead of here. We might move a few of the biggest threads over to the other section to get the wheels rolling, but this is intended to be a somewhat casual blend rather than a dictatorship-esque change of course with tons of deleting and enforcing.
Some of the mods were just getting tired of the ratio of UE stuff to non-UE stuff and we decided that renaming the board to "UE Photography" and moving it into the main UE group of forum sections instead of with the "other" group of sections.
I know that a lot of long-time members have been wanting a change of this nature (just read some of the replies above), and this seemed like a good way to go about it.

I can't help but think that this might have been a better idea if you would've just made a new section for this instead of porting the old one. Now you have UE Photography and the DB. Both pretty much do the same thing. Also there's no other places besies "other" to post pictures of non UE related things.
Keeping this as "Photography" and then creating a new section for UE stuff only would've been the smarter move. Now it's all cluttered and people are going to get confused very easily.
Just my 2 cents.

You misunderstand. UER is not a site intended to host large numbers of personal photos or other non-UE-related stuff. I don't have that kind of bandwidth. I am trying to eliminate the non-relevant trash threads like ' pictures of squirrels ' by making this a UE Photo Only section.

I do understand completely what you're doing. However, people are just going to post it anyway on the "Other" board anyways. You even told them to a couple posts up. This isn't going to solve your bandwidth problem one bit.
EDIT: Just noticed you said NOT to start similar ones in the Other section. People will still do it anyways more than likely though.
