Anyone know which ones better for self-defense?

The biggest benefit to gel I see is that it minimizes risk of blow back into your own face. Also because of the way sprays atomize, even without wind, can get into your lungs in close quarters. Your face and eyes may not burn, but the hacking and difficulty breathing could make running away from danger difficult. I've seen both the cop who deployed it and the criminal on the ground grasping for breath right next to each other before....

Gel. It can be thrown back at you, but far more safer if you’re worried about feeling it too. Just make sure the size you’re carrying is legal. Every state has its own rules regarding them. Make sure you read up on it.
