Wish you luck man, it’s hard to find locals. Try doing some searches for stuff like facebook or discord groups dedicated to the area or look for easier to get into groups like community clubs and see if anyone else has the same interests. It’s a shot in the dark but it worked for me. I know have a group to go out with every few weeks or so.
Also I wanna say love the nickname possum is prefect
