Year Two - A Year in Review

In early 2022, I discovered this hobby, and it forever changed my life. This hobby has led me places I never dreamed of, made me friends I'd never hope to lose, and given me a purpose and reason to live. This year was my second year exploring and I can't wait for all the years to come. Lets start with the year in review!

So far this year, as of December 19th, 2023, I have explored 201 unique locations since January 1st 2023.
Of these 201 locations I have explored
15 power plants
11 hospitals
22 churches
9 theaters
7 banks
51 tunnels/caves
29 roofs
15 schools
24 industrial sites
2 prisons/jails
16 other miscellaneous locations

Here are some photos from this year!

Quite an impressive record. How far have you traveled for locations? I would love to find an abandoned prison that sounds amazing.

Thanks! Farthest I've traveled this year was either out to Philadelphia in October, or to a remote mining town in far western Colorado over the summer. I usually travel within Chicago though, and I make frequent trips out to Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Saint Louis.

Insane quantity of spots but the quality of these spots is insane too. I've seen lots about that bank with double vaults but never seen it that untouched.

Why must you taunt us like this, Razzy?

But seriously, these are some awesome photos. Thanks for sharing what you were able to safely share, and I can't wait to see the rest someday!

Not me being happy with my ~ten locations this year, with people here hitting up hundreds of spots.

Great set, not a stinker in the bunch. You'll keep us well fed for ages with the quality and quantity of your work. Keep it up!

200 spots!? I worry sometimes that I'm a bit too addicted to the hobby but it's nice to see those numbers and feel solace that I'm only batting about half the volume of the biggest crack-heads! (<-- edit: take no offence. That's a compliment). #14's low sun casting through such an incredible location is a real jaw-dropper. Many of these shots make me want to log out and fiddle around with the perspective correction tool in the photo-editing program I use to get a better hang of it.

Really appreciate it! I try my best! And yea that bank was a thing for a good little bit before it got blown this year. All it took was one person posting a picture of the lobby including the windows and then everyone found it, and shared it around. Took about a week for the place to get covered and the door to angle grinded open

Took a lot of time and effort but it was an awesome year. Nothing I love better than exploring. Appreciate it!

Hey don't discount the ten locations you did do! From the photos I've seen those are pretty nice. Really glad you liked my photos as well! I'll try my best to keep it up.

Haha, I don't take any offense, I figuratively and close to literally am/was a crackhead, can't sit still and most days I just need to get out there. I love this hobby and I can't get enough. Really glad you enjoyed that photo, I was unsure about including it but I am glad I did, its really pretty. A piece of advice I would offer however is to avoid the perspective correction tools like the plague. They can distort the photo and make it look weird. I'd always try to get the perspective and composition right on camera, and leave any perspective corrections in post for very minor edits or as a last resort.
