Last spring I finally had my chance to embark on a long-awaited road trip to the Northeast, specifically to spend a week driving around the region to explore. One of the first spots on my list is, quite frankly, too sensitive to post. But the spot I hit afterwards isn't! So have some pics from a mystery shipwreck on the riverfront, I'm sure folks have posted it before but here's my take on it. Apparently nobody knows how or why it's there, it just kind of showed up one day. With no known owner and no valuable salvage aboard, nobody has been willing to put up the money to get it removed so it's just sat there for more than a decade. I did find some unsupported online speculation that it was originally part of the seating area for a fancy restaurant upstream that got torn loose in a storm, but it's too heavily decayed to tell. Either way, it's a popular drinking spot for local teens and homeless folks when the river is low.
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there. | |
