I made this post and we'll see. It's a major holiday in Korea, sort of akin to Thanksgiving, but also matching up with a memorial day, giving me six days off. First night, when most people would be heading out of town, I stopped by a subway construction site. I wasn't prepared to find an opening. 1. They had concreted up over my usual entry point.
2. Nearby is a statue of Kang Woo-kyu, a Korean independence martyr who tried to assassinate a Japanese governor-general of Korea, but failed. The statue shows him holding a grenade.
3. Looks like he's ready to throw it at this little tent, which was held closed by an elaborately knotted string. I knew I couldn't retie it, but I wasn't going to let just a knot stop me.
4. Inside, I was in a passageway that would likely become an entrance with escalators in the future. For now, it was a gruelling climb down.
5. Here's the bottom of that descent.
6. Now time for the really deep one.
7. Almost at the bottom.
8. On previous visits, this was just an open tube, with no way down. I had been expecting for months that now this would be my chance to get down onto the tunnel floor.
9. Caution-A-Hole.
10. This truck alarms me. There were little cameras attached to the side-view mirrors, and lights on them were blinking. I think it's possible if this was recording, they might have footage of me. Not sure if my face would be identifiable.
11. Anyway, let's go in the other dihttps://www.uer....=newthread#rection
12.
13. I didn't get much closer.
14. Turning back.
