Bridge in Edmonton

I'm sure people already know about this but I recently found this website and would like to start contributing. Sorry for the poor pictures, took them before I knew about this place. One end you have to climb over a metal cage and drop on the bridge, the other end is cut open and easy to climb in. Very nice view point as well!

Nice bridge! Careful not to post easy instructions for how to get in to places, though!

OR at least if you're going to post instructions, don't provide info about where the place is.

Huh really interesting bridge, do you know possibly the history of the bridge? Like what it was used for?

Edmonton has few of these crossing ravines, they are just general utility.

I see, why was it abandoned then? Just underused and wasn't necessary?

This bridge has been around for a long time. The floor used to be wooden, and the fence wasn't as high, so it was super easy to get onto it. People would also regularly cut the lock off so you could just walk in. Around 4-5 years ago, the city rebuilt the entire thing, and I haven't been on it since (I also haven't been living in Edmonton though). It's good to know that one of the ends is cut open now! As far as I know, the entire purpose of it is to transport sewage across the ravine. This becomes clear if you pop any of the manholes nearby.
