Should I stay or should I go?

Hello !!

I'm brand new to the concept of urbex and I've found a place near me, I've done some research on it including some urbexers who've already went to it; and they've said that the place is crawling with mold, broken glass, and there was a rumor that there was a permanent security guard on the inside. (although I doubt that's true considering it's been abandoned for more than 15 years) And also, walking around it, there is tons of recent plywood installations; so my question is,

should I really spend 80$ for a respirator that I won't really use for anything else but this, and even then I'd have to break something in order to get into the building?

I'm not sure that if the police were to be called they'd be joyed to see a hammer next to a glass panel.

Any advice or should I just find another place?

Thank you !

A good respirator will go a long way. Never break anything. Leave everything how you found it. If you're caught breaking something you'll face the consequences. There's always a better way in.

if you've already taken a look around and you can't find a way inside without breaking in it might be best to keep on the lookout for another place in your area. i feel like the security guard rumour may be false though if you cant find a normal way in and theres no external evidence of one being stationed there (cameras, motion detectors, a car nearby, recent footprints, sounds from inside)

however a respirator may not be a bad investment in the long run if you plan on continuing the hobby !

Sometimes if you believe other people are frequently visiting the place but you can't find a way in and don't make one yourself, it can pay to periodically check up on it to see if someone else has made a new entrance. There've been a few places where my first attempts to explore it were met with failure, but subsequent ones were successful once I waited for someone else to make an entrance.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.
