Today I went back to the mall I spent a majority of my time at from the age of 5 to 18. The so called "stomping grounds" for my group of holligan friends and I in middle and high school. I even got my first girlfriend in the movie theater in 7th grade here, too many memories to count. 3/4 of the building has been demolished for a new shopping and condo complex, but the remaining section has stayed. But it will soon be demolished too. These are some of the last photos that will ever be taken of this mall. Enjoy. Exterior view of the remaining section of the mall. I should note, the JCPenny is the only building that is staying. The lights are on for their store, everything else is being demolished. But while they work on transferring electric, water and what not to JCPenny, the remaining bit of the Mall has stayed.

Heres a video I made a year and a half ago, walking through the mall a month before it was closed down. If youd like to see it when it was open. at 2:55 in the video, im in the children's play area you see in the photos. https://www.youtub...atch?v=67IsgUIkfgA

Just curious, cause I've never been back to a place I'm familiar with post-abandonment, is it more emotional to walk through or is it just cool to see it in a different state?

I wouldn’t say I was that emotional, I just found it super interesting seeing the mall in that state compared to the times I spent there pre abandonment. It was definitely a bittersweet moment walking through but I was at least happy to walk through once more.
