2022 Year in Review
< on 1/19/2023 12:48 AM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
I was starting to get self-conscious, being so late for the party. Well here's my year in review, one or two photographs from each location, rendered as usual, in stunning 0.1 MB jpegs.

This was a good year for getting a lot of the stuff done I've been snoozing on. I mostly owe that to the good company I've found after so many years of being an urbex recluse, so thanks to everyone who I met up with this year, and I look forward to meeting more people next year.

I spent a lot of time this year on 19th century industrial sites, which is something of an on going project for me, but it was also a good year for institutional stuff. I think more importantly, I got into some variety this year, in ways I never have before. I used to never do churches for instance, and I even did a couple of very okay plants, just to get my feet wet. Hope you enjoy!

1) Psych Hospital

2) Really wish they just left the asbestos - Sanatorium

3) I got Covid at a Christmas super spreader event in 2021, so I was still dealing with some long term symptoms at this point. Weird day

4) Paper Mill

5) There were no stairs in this thing for at least two, maybe three stories. I put a lot of work into climbing an internal steel cable inside a duct for a couple of floors only to hit a solid partition. 1/10 inside, 10/10 outside

6) Spiral Staircase Mill

7) I used to climb in here through a window that was barred shut ages ago. It was a nice treat to stop by and see it open. The neighborhood watch showed up about an hour later, all pissed because people were enjoying it. 10/10 inside

8) 'they're going to send in a crew to wipe down the loads'

10) This very excellent mill looks 100% like a mill and I walked through chest deep water (I didn't know it would be chest deep) in March just to see the turbine

11) Sorry Foucault simps, but prisons don't look at all like schools(but hospitals kind of do (also some hospitals look like prisons??))

12) Belfry Mill

13) Creepy Turbine Mill. Was it bad vibes or just the bad smell?

14) Theater

15) Art Deco Office Block

16) Little plant with one very nice turbine

17) State School

18) State Hospital

19) Wheel house -Top 3 weirdest turbines (Is that mean?)

20) Burnt out Soda Fountain

21) Just enough of the assembly was scrapped that you could see the wheels

22) This is a museum, but they let you go underground and I thought that was neat

23) State School

24) People only hate this place because it represents something inside themselves they want to kill

25) Mostly we talked about what we were going to have for lunch

26) School

27) Interesting turbine set up and a nice horizontal steam engine as a bonus

28) Sketchy alarmed mill with a nice bell tower

29) Dentist Office

30) Born Of Thunda Church

31) Egyptian Revival

32) Sketchy floor, big turbines

33) Dead mall vibes nursing home

34) State School

35) Paper Mill

36) So get this. The folks at DCAMM felt so guilty about all the pointless demolition that they've been rebuilding Taunton State from memory <3

37) State Hospital

38) Gutted Plant with nice architecture

39) Normally I wouldn't post a place this empty, but look at that post and beam work!

40) Prison

41) Dijon's House

42) Full Carillon Church

43) The good northside school

44) Regular Church

45) The bad northside school

46) Dead bat Church

47) Underground railroad house with secret passages

48) Vintage general hospital

49) Art Deco Admin

50) Theater

51) Alarmed Auditorium

52) Hospital Island

53) Dome Hotel

54) Pump House with marble fittings

55) Geometry Church

This Jesus was too sexy. I had to crop out his boner!

56) The Scarier Hospital Island

57) Pool House

58) Dogtown

59) Black Raspberry

60) I see Hazmat here in the future

61) This was a super fun meet up and a cool little spot too

62) Drop-ceiling Church

63) 50's Stained Glass Church

64) Wrecked State School

65) Pristine State School

66) Hyperbaric Hospital

67) Church with nice tiles

68) Ninj's Station

69) Nice Ceiling Church

70) Wrecked Theater

71) Are the Cops here? School

72) Sanatorium

73) Poor House

74) A pretty okay plant, but at least it had most of the stuff

75) The Walnut School

76) Pool House

77) Theater #1

78) Theater #2 (Maybe I'm getting out of line splitting these up?)

79) Nice Blue Church

80) This place makes PSH look interesting

81) Cool airplane, don't park in the subdivision

Well that's it! Thanks everyone for looking and good luck to you all next year!!

Nice stuff!!

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

Lots of really cool and off the beaten path stuff here, love it! I've never seen anyone show that balcony-and-above portion of the bowling alley theater, really cool.

Great thread, glad we got to link up so many times this year!

And I really appreciate your fixation on hydro stuff, both therapeutic and industrial. I've gotta find some of these crazy turbines

#15 - really digging all the lines here, both actual lines and ones from shadows. #51 had me say, out loud “but uh…how alarmed?” that place is insane. a very groovy 2022 for you.

you have just begun reading the sentence you just finished reading.
