There is one storm drain in my neighborhood that got the name of "The Demon Tunnel." This tunnel is about 3-½ feet tall and during 2020 we had our first adventure in. We were rolling along on our skateboards when suddenly my phone's flashlight shut off. We were initially spooked by this but kept on going. I was quickly able to reenable the light on my phone. Several minutes later, one of the actual flashlights suddenly shut off. At this point, we were starting to freak out. Soon after, the third light shut off and we started to book it out of the tunnel. Once we were out, we tried to get the flashlights running again, but we could not. At the beginning of this exploration, the flashlights had full batteries.

Fast forward to 2022, my friend and I set out to get to the other end of the drain. We got to the end without trouble, but once there, my friends phone battery dropped from 80% to somewhere around 30%. We got nervous and went back down the drain to leave.

A few weeks later, we decided to explore another branch of this tunnel. Once we got to the branch we smelled something was off and chose not to go in.

If we go forward about two more weeks, we returned, but the smell was now by the front of the drain.

Finally, a couple days ago my friend and I went to the end of this drain, thus finishing off all the drains of the neighborhood(excluding the ones with a diameter where we must lie flat on our boards.)

I will stop procrastinating tomorrow...

Since this double-posted I will add another detail.

In the first, wider section of the drain, if you continue past the turn-off for the more narrow part, there is a trash bag draped across the infall.

It has been there for years and gave me quite a scare when I first saw it.

I had something similar happen while hiking. I was hiking on Mt. Monadnock during the winter a few years back. I always bring my phone and a few flashlights in case of emergencies. Nothing unusual happened on the hike, but once I got back to my car, I noticed that my phone's battery (which I had fully charged beforehand) was almost completely depleted. Fast forward to a few hours later when I was unpacking my backpack, and I noticed that literally every battery powered device I had been carrying was either completely dead or had very little power left. I learned later that this happened because of the temperature. Extremely hot or cold temperatures can drain batteries shockingly fast. Was the drain you were exploring super cold by any chance. This can also happen if you had your phone in a drybag that got submerged in water. Even though your phone stays dry, it can get really cold inside the bag. If it wasn't temperature, there's always a small chance that some sort of energy field drained your batteries. I'm not a scientist, but I know that things like magnetic or electromagnetic fields can make electronic devices act a little odd. It's always a possibility, but an electromagnetic field in a drain would be pretty odd. I mean, you're surrounded by at least a few feet of concrete and dirt at all time. You should be pretty insulated from stuff like that. Maybe there were buried high voltage power cables by the drain? Did the drain pass under a power substation or radio tower (or anything along those lines)? This kind of stuff fascinates me. So many invisible forces can make electronics act weird, most of which are borderline undetectable / unidentifiable without very sophisticated equipment. Then again, electromagnetic fields are often associated with the paranormal. Maybe there is a ghost in the demon tunnel. Who knows? If you ever go back to the drain, try bringing an electromagnetic field (EMF) meter. There are some pretty cheap ones on Amazon.

There was an entrance to an abandoned mineshaft from the 40-50s that had collapsed and killed some miners in my old neighborhood right behind my house. The entrance was covered up by concrete but it still went in about 3 feet or so. There was a super old shack about 20x20 feet that stood above where miners would go in and out of the mine via an elevator type system. Any how, since day 1 of moving into that house as a kid I felt odd and had a weird energy that I contently felt at home. I wasn't the only one who felt this as my parents said they felt a weird feeling at certain times at the house. I would have lots of extremely vivid and gruesome nightmares and a few I would have sleep paralysis. My parents and brother each have a story of having a nightmare followed by sleep paralysis at that house aswell. I was never one to believe in ghosts or spirits but after we moved years later, I've never had that dark energy that I had felt at that house. Nor have I had such vivid nightmares or sleep paralysis since moving away. I do believe there were spirits in that area of the miners who died in the collapse. I never got the full story but I've heard about 10 miners were killed, and the entrance was directly behind my house so I don't know... Weird times at that house though.

There was an experience I had with orbs flying around an abandoned house.

A friend of mine claimed he saw orbs flying around in a cemetery, but I never saw them.

Sometimes the best paranormal experiences are the ones you create yourself.

One night I drove around attaching red, helium-filled balloons to storm drain grates.

People were calling the police, it was on the TV news. Priceless.

I do not but some of my childhood friends may have. I was hidden with other kids and a mobile in the -1 floor of an abandoned building. Outside there were some of our friends telling other kids that this place is haunted and to go look for themselves. When kids came downstairs and approached, our friends called us from outside and the ringtone was a very creepy child voice calling his mom. They were funny running outside.

I don't have any real 'paranormal' stories from the many years I've explored, however there's a couple of places I've been which have had a simply horrible heavy atmosphere inside them which was palpable. The first being a disused animal testing laboratory which as well as being physically dark inside had an overall feeling of utter darkness and despair, then we set an alarm off and had to run away.

There is a hospital in a rural part of the UK which was built for military servicemen at a nearby air base as well as the surrounding villages, it contains one of the longest straight enclosed corridors in the country and for years and years there have been many reports of people at the operating theatre end of the corridor feeling like there was someone following them or standing directly behind them when nobody was there - I visited on a sunny summer day a number of years ago and it really did have a weird feeling at that one end of the building.

Seen something out in August A. Bush Wildlife, if you walk along the murder loop at night, you may get chills around a certain burnt out and welded shut bunker.
Even during the day, when you walk by some of the nearing bunkers,(except for one bunker, day or night you'll get chills , but at night, you may see a shadow dragging along the gravel path) you see "TIME 4 SLEEP" spray painted on the outside of a certain bunker.

Still waiting for the next body to be found out there in a open bunker.

This isn't in an abandonment--but it's closer to on target. I used to work in at a big convalescent/memory care + fancy retirement home facility.

I was a cook but working pastry. Pastry station was at the end of the kitchen, in front of me was another work station. Branching off from that corner were all the walk in freezers and fridges, probably about a 45' long hallway.

It was early morning and just me at my station and Ana working in front of me at the other station. No one else was in the kitchen. After a bit, I hear a voice coming from the freezer area that sounded like it said "Is it meat?" or "Is it beef?" I couldn't really tell the last word.

Ana says "who is that?" And I say did you hear that? She says yes. Just as odd was her reaction after. Ana is super-devout catholic. Believes ghosts and demons are real. But she just went on working like nothing happened. Maybe because she believes in ghosts she just accepted it.

By this time, we had been open about 10 or 11 years. Probably up around 300 people had died in the buildings, just of old age. The voice sounded like an older male, but not old like the residents, who were 70 yo and up.

Other employees have said they see an old lady dressed in black pulling a rolling suitcase in the underground garage. Look away and she disappears, or she manages to move behind a wall or pillar and is gone. It's all valet parking, so only employees are supposed to be down there.

Of course I'm sure the residents have gone down there to the garage at some point, but really no reason, it would be easier for residents to say bring my car to the lobby I need my jacket/whatever--and besides, only the valets keep track of where each car is parked in the crazy caverns that make up the garage. Changes all the time for cleaning, short term, long term etc...

This one time a friend and I were exploring a WWII/Cold War Era bunker on the coast. We were in one of the further back rooms when we heard what sounded like one of the heavy metal doors closing. You know the sound, like an old heavy metal hinge. We went to check it out and found that none of the doors had moved and we were still the only ones there. To compound the strangeness, all of the hinges had been rusted by the sea air. It would be literally impossible for any of the doors to move on the hinges enough to make a sound. Now that I think about it, another time in that same bunker I heard the sound of a loud metallic clang, but I was never able to find the source of that sound either.

About six months ago I and several other explorers were exploring an abandoned mine deep in the deserts of western Colorado, nearly 40 miles away from the nearest human settlement of any kind. We were camping overnight at the entrance to the mine, several miles into a narrow, deep canyon. This area has centuries of dark history, including a gruesome murder committed a few hundred yards away from our campsite a century prior.

Our first night in the canyon was fine, aside from some black widow spider encounters- the mood was jovial and we spent all night drinking and poking around the surface ruins of the old mining camp. However, half our party had to leave the next day for unexpected medical reasons. The other half elected to stay a second night and continue exploring the mine.

The second night felt drastically different from the first. The canyon was pitch dark until well after 2am, as it was deep enough that no moonlight reached our camp until the moon was at its apex. Our campfire wouldn't stay lit- no matter what we did, it would sputter and die within minutes unless we continuously blew on it, even as we fed it bone-dry wood. While collecting kindling, countless pinpricks reflected our flashlight beams back at us from the leaf litter, which we realized were the eyes of thousands of spiders.

The most unnerving of all were the voices. Throughout the night, we'd hear what sounded like directionless voices babbling wordlessly in the distance, and at least twice I clearly heard the voice of a fellow explorer calling my name from back towards the mine- despite knowing he'd left the canyon the day prior. We chalked it up to a mixture of paranoia, sleep deprivation, and the distorted sound of the creek echoing off the canyon walls- but if you ask the local Native American tribes, familiar voices in the desert calling your name to lure you into the darkness is a hallmark of being hunted by a skinwalker.

Naturally, we did what any self respecting wannabe horror movie victims do and lit a bunch of road flares, wandered back over to the mine entrance where I'd heard the voices, and played around with light-painting by the blood-red glow of the flares until they burned out in the darkness.

Not while exploring but I lived in a home that had severe paranormal activity for 4 years. At one time my whole bed was picked up while my wife and I were trying to sleep. I was assaulted constantly and I would explore to get away and escape from it. If anyone knows anything about the movie insidious that's a lot about what I went through. I was almost in a coma because I tried to learn to have out of body experiences to go try to deal with them. What I'm trying to say is don't mess around with this stuff. Don't play with the Ouija boards and don't get yourself in trouble. Once they like you they are very difficult to get rid of.
