Located in northern San Diego county. This dam is not abandoned and serves an active drinking water reservoir. Earlier in the week, me and a friend came in the night to visit a place I’d been eyeing for a few years. We had walked a long way along a windy mountain road to get here. At first we were uncertain of how we would enter the dam itself, yet we go to the top. We descend down a steep, slippery hillside, as we’d come after a heavy rain. However this wouldn’t have an much of effect on the ease of our passage downward. There was observable activity beside the lake atop the dam: While I couldn’t discern what it was, we assumed it do be either for the purpose of dam maintenance or water quality observation. We also noticed many vehicles, one with a person(s) inside. We had been cautious not to alert them but later dismissed their presence as a problem as we’d realized they would not be able to see us due to the darkness and the dense fog, yet we still made sure to stay quiet. We come upon a sort of walkway, leading to a downward stairway with a light coming at the bottom: So we carefully descend the steps, which entered into a large cavernous area with a lot of bats. Once reaching the bottom, it leads to an illuminated walkway: We now enter inside the dam walls: There are many sections inside that show the concave walls: The lower area is visible from above: At the end of the upper walkway there is a stairway leading to the top of the dam: View from above, we are very high up!(id forgotten my camera for this and unfortunately you can see the age of my phones camera, however I hope to return soon to take better photos) We return inside to explore the lower levels, also the walls are still very fresh!! Here we can see the inner workings of the dam: Here a walkway takes us to an outside area: A doorway leads us into the open area covered in graff: There’s tags and throwup everywhere, but we did not come here to write: Shortly after, we find our way to the surface where we make our way out I hope you’ve enjoyed this amazing piece of post world war I era infrastructure history! I’d like to remind anyone viewing that accessing parts of this facility is considered criminal trespassing, which I neither encourage nor condone.

That is awesome. Looks like a whole labyrinth. I've yet to explore a dam.

Super cool pictures. Those tunnels seem like they're straight from a dystopian movie.
