Horse Farm

In a remote place outside my former home town was a strange area. It was mainly fields next to a regional airport with some old farm houses. According to another urbexer's website no less than five of them were abandoned.

The first one had been recently locked, but the second one was a large farm with a house and a separate garage, storage / sauna, horse stable and strange cottage, which looked old, but had no apparent use and wasn't even visible on old maps until the 80's.

Other urbexers have reported really strange things happening here, but we encountered nothing out of the ordinary.

A view from the small cottage.

And another featuring the storage / sauna building and the house.

The cottage from the outside and the stable behind it.

I would call this vintage.

A bedroom in the main building.

They really have liked the blue color.

The bedroom looks like a bull had rammed through it...

...if you know what I mean.

Thank you! One of my favorite things to do is to photograph evening sun through the windows of abandoned buildings. Sometimes the shots are magical.

I really don't know. A local urbexer I talked to last year asked if I had been there, and when I said I had, he asked, if anything strange happened. I said no, so he didn't go on. Another guy posted photos from here to a Finnish urbex Facebook group and somebody wished good luck to everybody who wants to try their luck and go there.

There are rumors of somebody killing their mother in the area, but when I googled the place, the old lady whose mail was still in the building seemed to have died of old age.

So talked to another fellow explorer, and I now have new info.

The local rumor is, that there has been a family murder on the farm in the late 1980's or early 1990's. This is most likely just an urban legend, which comes from the fact that there are traces of gunshots on the door. After a lot of research, no family murders can be traced to the area during that time, so probably some local kid has just practiced shooting.

But then there are also loads of mentions about something called 'the Greys'. According to several posts in different places they are foggy, grey creatures, which are around the size of a large human and float slightly above the ground.

People also report very loud bangs from the small cottage and flying rocks. And feeling very uneasy around the area.

When we were in the main building, we also were scared by a loud bang, but I think it was just the wind slamming a door shut.

That is an interesting background of the place. I do love when locals have stories on places like these. Beautiful pictures as well. I'm guessing it's relatively windy down there.

Thank you again for the positive feedback!

And it sure is! The place is known as the town of eternal headwind.

Or like my aunt put it: "If you don't need a hat on the town's main bridges on the coldest day of the year, you don't need a hat anywhere."

Ps. I don't wear a hat in winter
