Abandoned Power Plant Feature Documentary!

We're working on finishing a documentary about the abandoned power plants in Philly with interviews from every type of person interested in these places. From retired workers, to scrappers and urban explorers we've got everyone we could interviewed to paint a picture of what these places were like in the past and what they're like now.

If that's the kind of thing you'd be into check out our project:

If you happened to have explored one of these buildings we'd also be very interested in taking a look at your footage potentially for the movie. Thanks!

Seems like a neat idea, just wondering about a few things. Are any OG Philly explorers involved? There are some folks here who have been exploring these beasts for decades. I'm also wondering what about this requires crowdfunding. Lots of other documentaries have been done by folks who financed it themselves, they tend to be low budget productions. Will you be waiting until the planned demolition of Richmond wraps and rebirth of Delaware is complete? I'd assume you would have to if the buildings are the topic of focus.

Unfortunately I don't have any footage to contribute myself. All I have are some pre graffiti photos that are exposed horribly.

We have a few old explorers that we're in communication with. Haven't got them on camera yet, but it's a matter of time.

As far as the budget it requires funding because we are trying to make something that's not as low budget. There are tons of 15-30 minute run-throughs of these buildings on youtube that are cool for what they are, but we're trying to produce a film ready to go to some festivals and to streaming. We're trying to make something more in depth with a higher budget for quality in the post-production that includes graphics, original music etc. and are trying to make the film have a greater cohesive statement about the decay of American infrastructure and industry than just commenting on one building. To get a professional quality film you need something of a budget to pay for the look we are trying to achieve. We want to do something a little different than what's out there already.

As you already know, i can't wait to see the final work man!

To everyone that does not know him, John is legit and im sure he and his team will create something that will blow our mind.

Ive seen some clips here and there of interviews with workers etc and it's very good to not say awesome.

The time spent to find all those people and put this together is crazy.

I wish i could donate more but i'm dealing with my own project as you know lol.

I'm happy to see the project is well funded already!

Il y a toujours un moyen.
