Dirt House in Canada

While on my first vacation since 2018, I didn't do much exploring until near the end of the trip.

1. Out the window of a car, I noticed a weird sight: a clearly abandoned house that seemed to be submerged in a pile of dirt. I was the only one who saw it and I wasn't able to get a close look at it again after several drives-by.

2. A later pass confirmed that I wasn't seeing things.

3. So one morning (around 1pm) when there was nothing to do, I caught a bus over to see it up close for myself. Here's the view from the edge of the highway.

4. I right up to the property entrance, to find it wide open and doable, although there were other possible places where people who don't like trespassers could be camped out.

5. There was also at least one truck buried behind dirt.

6. Going around back, I confirmed no one else was on the property.

7. The back was also mostly submerged in dirt.

8. Here's a peek in through the back door.

9. Going around to the front, I found a blackberry bush. Blackberries were in season and there were bushes all over the city.

10. The way to the front door was pretty simple, although the front door itself was unopenable due to dirt.

11. Here's a look in through the front window. The dirt was piled up pretty high inside.

12. Turns out it was mud, and I nearly lost a shoe.

13. A third door.

14. Pulling my shoe free, I climbed up over this mound to escape.

15. This never happens back in Korea.

I'm assuming the truck is taking the dirt out from the property. In that case, how the hell did that much dirt end up there lmao

No worries, it's my country too, even if I only visit it every five years.

In Bram Stoker's Dracula, the vampire needed to sleep in soil from his original home to maintain his powers and immortality. We don't get many vampires in North America for this reason. Seems like they're mostly in Europe, where it's a lot easier to return to the homeland to refill their coffins. The vampire here was definitely living by the mantra "Go big or go home!"
