New Orleans Trip

Hey, everyone! I am new to the forum but have been casually exploring since I was like 14. I am taking a 3-day trip to New Orleans in about 2 weeks and would love to meet up with some locals and do some exploring. Would anyone be interested in meeting up somewhere public or giving any tips? Thanks in advance!

Hi! I live in Florida, but I'm in NOLA a lot.

You're not going to get much success from this forum, unfortunately. I posted my own version of this post a while ago and very few bites.

I know Instagram is a dirty word around here but ask the NOLA photographers there. Don't expect much help but you'll at least get some idea.

Also, the big places there have lots of security (except that one huge place in the Bywater, now it's open to the public I think), so be careful.

I wouldn't say open to the public as much as it is very open and the cops don't really give a shit about it. That being said, be very careful if you visit there alone because there is a lot of crime happening there. Multiple bodies have been dumped on site there in the past few months.

I'm glad you're planning a trip to New Orleans, it's such a fun and unique city with so much to offer. I can recommend checking out the French Quarter for some great food and live music, and also taking a walk along Bourbon Street. If you're looking for something a little more off the beaten path, try checking out the Garden District or the Treme neighborhood. If you're looking for something outdoors, check out the Bayou Segnette State Park which is a great place to hike or bike. And if you're interested in safari adventures, check out this link https://traveltweaks.com/how-to-plan-a-trip-for-the-great-migration-safari-in-tanzania-36330/ for some great tips on how to plan a safari trip.

Any more info on this? I'm heading that way in the next few weeks.
