Katherine's Crossing

Anyone been to the abandoned house at Katherine's Crossing in Lemont, IL? One two-story garage/side house and one full house with a basement. The top of the basement window is directly in front of the back door that you access the place through, so it's a bit tricky to get inside. There's a front door too, but it requires pushing through a ton of spider-filled brush.

There's a ton of mystery surrounding the place, and a billion different rumors about it being haunted. I don't believe them for a second, but I will say that I did find dried blood on one visit that wasn't there on the visit before, so maybe something creepy really is happening.

The basement is where most of the freaky vibes are, since it's full of animal bones and tryhard satanic graffiti, but the spooky factor is kind of kneecapped by the fact that if you look at your feet, you'll see the floor also littered in Nerf darts that some kids left during what must have been an epic Nerf war.

Every time we return, it's always a little different, but I've gone there about five times in the past few years, and it's fun every time. Haven't been since 2020. Has anyone else gone, especially recently? Anyone know if it's still there?

EDIT: I messed up the images but this should fix them. They're shot on Kodak Tri-X on a Minolta Maxxum XTsi. https://www.flickr.../72177720300180891

Haha, sweet! It was actually my mom's camera in the '90s, and yet it's served me well for years now whenever I don't want to bother with shooting fully manual.
