I don't quite know how it happened, but I just saw the green 10 year star on my account today.  That's a bit of a milestone for me. As most of you know, I'm still out exploring old mines, started shooting videos, and having a great time.
As I get older I can see the years ticking by, knowing that I have more exploring left than I do years of being physically able to do it. The 10 year star is wonderful, but it's also a reminder to get out exploring every chance I get.
Thanks to everyone here who have been so nice to me! Your kind words do not go unnoticed.

Same here, I'm coming up on my 10 years myself in the next couple of years. It doesn't feel like it's been so long in many ways, and it's strange to be standing in the shoes of the long-gone veteran explorers I looked up to when I first joined all those years ago.

For some reason @mookster, I assumed you were much older than me in UER years, but as it turns out, I’ve been around here around seven years, so almost as long! I didn’t discover UER (or even photography for that matter), until my early 30’s, so I started out pretty late compared to most members.

I’ve been watching your you tube videos lately and I’ve really enjoyed them! I plan on continuing to live vicariously through you and others out west until I can make the trip out there personally. I’ve been fascinated with exploring mines for a while now and I’ve been thinking about it more and more lately. Even to the point of mapping possible routes (and spending WAY too much time scouring google and topo maps). North Texas isn’t exactly known for its great mine exploration, so I hope to set aside at least a week in the near future and check this off my bucket list.

I think I joined Opacity around the same time maybe? I remember coming here because during that time in 2014 I was piecing together my first States trip.
I've been an active member of the UK forum 28dl since 2009 though.
