Hi this is my first post so let me know if I messed it up, but I have had an account and been interested in UE for a while, just apprehensive about starting. I'm in the reno truckee area and have been trying to find some spots that are beginner-friendly but have yet to find any online, would anyone in the area want to go together?

I'll be over in Reno on June 1st and then through the weekend.
If you find anything, I'm up for joining

I'll be sure to take my urbex kit with me

That sounds awesome!! Also, if you don't mind me asking what sort of things go into an urbex kit, and should I have one of my own?

I usually bring:

  • LED flashlight,
  • red LED flashlight (better for being able to see in the dark, also not as noticeable from far away)
  • P100 mask / N95 mask
  • disposable gloves
  • small first aid kit
  • usually some sanitizing/alcohol wipes

And a few other things I take

Sometimes I have goggles because I know it's gonna be dusty as hell and I just don't want to deal with that sort of shit

But yeah, being safe -- esp with not wanting to breathe in mold, asbestos, etc is good
And touching some things could have mold or whatever on them. I like looking through papers, or peeking in things to see what history there is, or hell... even just holding onto / leaning on things for safety while navigating

Avoid taking anything that would make you look like a scrapper, like tools or whatever
