A couple of my friends rescued a dog recently (literally from the middle of the road), and after a prior owner could not be located, the dog went up for adoption and they got him.
I haven't met the dog yet, but according to their social media posts they've already taken him exploring at least once.
So I'm curious how widespread urban exploring dogs are. Not guard dogs or stray dogs found at abandonments, but actual dogs accompanying explorers. I think I've seen a few mentions on this site in the past, but not all in one place.
Please feel free to share stories, pictures, or links about urban exploring dogs.
I’d love to be able to take my dog along with me, unfortunately she’s not the brightest. I’d spend the whole time worrying about her running off/getting hurt/getting us busted.
On the topic though I watched this video a month ago, girl takes her dog to Chernobyl.
I've definitely seen the occasional dog at urbex meetups, so there are explorers out there who bring their four legged friends with them on expeditions.
"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.
I'd love to have my dog along with me, and she'd definitely let me know if somebody was sneaking up on us, but I would need to have her wear shoes or something. Also I'd be worrying about what she decided looked tasty enough to eat.
