Liminal Spaces

love a good liminal space picture.
it just feels slightly off, leaving you
senses heightened
hair on edge
third eye twitching.

Empty spaces that shouldnt
sensations of not being alone
peering behind the scenes irl.

its dangerous here
but you dont know why
how
from who

open the door
you could be anywhere
across the globe
in a stairwell, garage, alleyway
dont open the door
-return to your reality

you dont know what beasts hide in the in-between

Copying the format of presenting these in YouTube videos, I put out three liminal videos with my pictures, with sound by a friend who knew what was needed.

Mine exploring gives us a rich source of these spaces.

So many memories represented in these few photos.

If you browse Zillow, every other amateur real estate shot is basically unsettling liminal space.

I love those places with eerie, dreamlike construction that would have been strange to see even before they were abandoned.

im a newbie with exploring truly abandoned places lol
ive marked a few locations that i've found by happenstance and have been casing them out in my car. im just too scared to go in lmao

The picture of the bathroom was from the one time a pipe broke in my college apartment and they had to turn off the water for a couple days to replace the water heater. their solution was to give us access to another apartment in the building that was vacant for the semester but had running water. i was so infuriated about their "solution" that i didnt bother to care about the spare apartment's condition and ended up not using a shower curtain and the steam was almost opaque. i cried at the absurdity of my situation and ended up with that picture.
the stair case doesnt have as much back story lol
its just a moody back staircase in a campus building that not many people have a reason to use it.

One I posted in a Facebook group not so long ago, from an abandoned military base 12 years ago.
