Abandoned Candles Factory

Finding cool abandoned spots is pretty hard, especially in your area. One of the best ways to find really neat locations is google maps in my opinion. One reason is that your not really sure what your going to find, it's not like somebody recommended it, or told you it's cool. That's what makes it the most exciting in a manner. One of the most common things to find while traveling through google maps, is factories. They are really easy to find if you stick near railroads. This one I found while following a railroad, and it was pretty cool! I took some exterior pictures, thinking it was your run of the mill abandoned factory.

It looks pretty cool even then though. I parked nearby and walked over. From this angle, I could noticed that half of the building was burnt down, which could've been why it was abandoned.

Looking at the front, I could sort of make out something that was painted on there. It is hard to tell here, but I'm pretty sure it said something like "Dixie" on it.
When I got to the side of the building, there was a fence and gate, the gate being wide open. The first thing I noticed, was a really cool abandoned truck, it had the front ventilator exposed, the fan was moving in the wind.

This is a picture of the fan inside of the truck.

Walking around the back of the factory, I saw the alley way that split up the burnt down part and the abandoned part. There was an interesting metal bridge that had to connect them when it was active. No, I didn't go on it because there were holes in it and it was very unstable. In the alley, there was an opening, I could now enter the building.

Walking inside, I noticed that the floors were wooden, and there were lots of holes in the floor.

I saw what I thought was a pile of junk, but when I got a closer look, it was a pile of old candle jars, filled with wax.

Along with that, there was multiple manuals and books on candles. Now, I was sure that this was a candle factory that sold them at the factory.

The reason I thought it must have also been a shop, is because there was an old sign that said "Candle Shop Open".

A bunch of boxes full of brand new candle jars and your typical christmas decorations.

Heading upstairs, I could tell the floors were getting more rickety. Although that wouldn't stop me from exploring.

This is a shot I took ok the identical, rectangle windows.

Some sort of weird machine with a knob on it. Not sure what it is.
There was roof access, and it was really cool. Sadly, I didn't take anymore pictures. Also, the reason these pictures are so low quality is because I took them on my phone. Without the black and white filter, they look much worse, so I figured the Black and White would help take away from the blurry, low quality pictures. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed these pictures and my story about this old factory building. The best locations are always the ones that no one knows about.
