Sad State of an Old Hospital

Just recently I went to visit a well known spot, and I was somewhat surprised to see the state that it's in. I was there 3 years ago and it had heavy decay, while still seeming structurally sound.

Here is a photo of the room the spot is famous for. (Found on google, probably taken around 8-10 years ago)

Here is a photo I got of the dome just recently.

Here is where it get's concerning. The arched doorways underneath the dome seem to be under a lot of stress.

I don't believe this place has much longer and it's pretty sad to see how terrible its gotten over the past 4 years. Holes in walls, everything collapsing, I guess its just part of the cycle of abandoned spots.

My bets would be on that this is the last winter that dome will have. I hope nobody gets hurt there. Be careful everyone.

With as much attention as wannabe influencer douche nozzles have given this place in the last few years, I am shocked there is any glass left in the domed skylight. And doorways under stress is an understatement - I wouldn't stand under those! That is pretty wild. Cool update - thanks!

That scene looks like it was photographed through a fun-house mirror: the deformed/collapsing arches create a dissonance with what the brain expects to "see", like an optical illusion. Good one.

That brickwork is very concerning, I'd hate to see the roof collapse but I fear it's inevitable now.

As much as this sucks, I can't wait to see the pictures of this room with a wide open roof and the collapsed remains of the dome on the floor.

You know that is going to look awesome, from an abandoned photography POV!

FYI - I have found the details of this location pops up in a search using just the info in this thread.

Not going to cry and complain myself, as the OP certainly did not intend such. I'll let the mods and masses decide if it should be made private.

I guess I could've excluded some of that info. I'll take that into account in future posts.

Found out I could modify posts, considering anyone who knows the spot will know the spot I've just removed all the "hints".

It's one of the most well known well publicised abandoned locations in the north-eastern States, I really wouldn't worry.

I am familiar with the location. Was really more of a example of what a loose who-er Google Bitch is. Never expected any action, especially from the OP - so yes - no worries indeed!

Update: So these photos were taken in late November. I forgot to post this update but better late than never.

The arch I was concerned about in the last post has gone.

At least the glass is still intact. Maybe by now it's even worse. Who knows, I'll check again soon.

Edit: Made pics inline ~Wang
