STL Sewers

Some friends and I were walking along one of many water sources of ST. LOUIS and came across a flood way gate that was lifted, we are able to enter and see the exit to a manhole and tunnels that went further. None of us had proper materials to go in further, and no one really wanted to risk injury or sickness for some (probably) boring sewer tunnels anyways.

However, I'm interested in going further to figure out where around the city I can access from the sewer tunnels underneath it. I don't currently have any access to actual caves/tunnels below STL like I wish I did, (Besides Lemp Brewery caves) so It'd be good practice for the real thing. And who knows, there could be something interesting down there.

Anywho, here are some pics from the entryway..

I apologize for the lack of photos, it was so dark and without the right equipment I couldn't get much inside. Just imagine a regular nothing special sewer, that's what we saw.
