I have an instagram account that I use to post pictures from old rolls of film I find and develop, mostly stuff I find at work or in used cameras I buy myself, plus old slides I buy at yard sales or flea markets. If you find or have found old undeveloped rolls of film while exploring I will gladly pay for the postage if you'd be kind enough to send them to me. DM me any time.

You have a photo of a father and son sitting on a couch, apparently before the son shipped off to the Vietnam War. I couldn't find his name (Crawford, Bob) in the war memorial archives so it seems to me that he survived....maybe he's still out there someplace and that photo will make its way back to him....

I briefly tried looking him up too but couldn't find anything either. That's an American Red Cross uniform he's wearing so I think it's likely he made it home.

It's always the ones you're most excited about that turn out to be boring (or worse, blank). If you still have those photos I'd love to see them anyway.

The one roll I ever took was a weird kind of film roll I had never seen before. Kinda like 110, but larger. When dumb me picked it up, I didn't quite know what I was looking at and accidentally popped it open.... RIP. The world will never know.

Aww, that sucks big time. I remember a while ago I was at an old conveyor belt motor, and there was a roll of film on top of the little light post that's next to it. It was a 35mm Black and White roll, I ended up getting prints from it, but it was just some photos of the nearby trail. Still, very cool to have happened, and I always keep an eye out for film when I'm exploring, or looking at cameras in thrift shops, and stuff like that, cause you never know what you'll find on them.

That was probably 126 film for Instamatic cameras. If it was color film (most likely) you probably wouldn't have gotten much out of it anyway, a lot of the color film in that format predates the C-41 process and is tricky to get decent images out of these days.

I've found the odd piece of film every once in a while, but it's usually just random stuff like family photos. I might look around to see if I can find one. One of my first find was finds was a slide from an asylum. The title of the presentation was "Effects of Electroshock" and the slide was about the formation of blood clots. That's one of my favorites, and I just wish I had found more slides before the place was torn down.

Damn, that is very cool. The only actual slides I've found were medical diagrams of genitalia from a Sex Ed slideshow. Found in a former Catholic-owned facility right next to a shelf of religious textbooks so it was definitely an unexpected find.

Hoo, boy, I don't even want to think of the implications of that. At least it was a memorable find.

One of the coolest things we found was in a long abandoned rural house. The floor was completely covered with scattered Kodak Slide Films. So many memories just left there mysteriously.
