A few years ago I was in Utah and researched some ghost towns for me to visit while I was there. This particular town serviced steam trains back when steam trains were a thing, but once diesel engines took over the town started to decline. Much later, in the 80's, only a few families still lived in the town. But a landslide dammed up a nearby river, causing it to flood the town. Only a handful of buildings remain popping up in a small lake (makes you wonder if there's any more under the surface). Anyways, here's some pictures:
