Sorry for the shit quality, this was in 2013 and I was using a phone. Basically this place was clearly abandoned but the machinery was still operating, maybe part of it was still in use to operate the dam?
Strange tunnel connecting the buildings. Really regret not taking more pictures inside.
The silver building had beds, old refrigerators, and sinks. The Wooden one is an outhouse.

That's a really cool find! And really interesting that the machinery was still running. Was the dam still doing anything? Like, holding water or whatever? If it was, my guess would be you're right about it still operating the dam.
"Look behind you!" *runs off* |

Was there a mine site nearby? Seems like a spot they might have one with those buildings.

Thanks!

Yep, there is still a large lake behind the dam.

Very possible, but didn't see it. To reach the dam, we had to hike a few miles, but there is a rail going directly upwards for a cart pulled by a cable probably for workers to ride on. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go back there soon and see if it's all still there, and I'll take more pics.

Cool find! This is very mine-esque... perhaps a shaft in one of the buildings?
Don't slip in poo! |

Nice spot, thanks for sharing. Just so ya know, if you're uploading smallish pics to the site, you can change to to make them appear inline. Saves your viewers the hassle of clicking to see them.
It's great to be alive! |

Good tip, thanks. Can't edit the post but next time I'll do that.

Looks like that might be a wheel house in the first pic. Could you see if there was water flowing out the bottom of it?
