Introduction + Abandoned Bridge

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, not new to urbex, but not an expert either. I decided to join here for a few reasons. Firstly, because my friends that are into this have largely moved on to other things, and I'd like to meet like-minded folks. Secondly, because I've had a hard time finding a place online where I can discuss this interest with discretion. And thirdly, because I've been exhausted by the construction boom in Boston wiping out some great locations in the past 10 years or so and would like to expand my horizons a bit (I know it's the natural order of things, but in one of the hottest real estate markets in the Western Hemisphere, finding interesting abandoned things is getting increasingly difficult).

About me - I'm in other alternative communities and subcultures. I do a little bit of urbex/abandoned life photography, but more portraiture these days, would like to balance that out.

How I'd like to contribute - I am going to try to share as much of my previous photos as I can without jeopardizing the location, as I understand not being a full member that anyone can sign up and access the photos, so I'll try to be careful.

I also have a good deal of knowledge of abandoned places in a European country where urbex is exceedingly rare due to an oppressive government, and as such, many places are largely untouched, without much graffiti or vandalism. I will eventually share more as I feel comfortable.

For now, I'd like to share a photo of an abandoned bridge. It's a pretty common location at this point, so I doubt this is anything Earth shattering.

Looking forward to new adventures!

I'm assuming that's the one over 95 in the Boston area on your last post. How much litter and graffiti is over there these days?

Edit: Or I could have just read below your profile pic...

This particular bridge isn't listed on the DB Map (at least not publicly that I can see) so I'm not sure how much I can say. Don't want to break the rules.

Welcome to the site! Cool shots as well. Generally places like bridges or your standard house don't need as much discretion, but that caution is good to see. Looking forward to seeing more pictures from you!

Thanks for the warm welcome! With the pandemic (hopefully) coming to a close, I hope this will be a great time of adventure and exploration for good folks into urbex. Will post more soon!

Of course, and to second ryanpics:

that caution is good to see.

Welcome! And totally agree about the Boston area. Every time I “discover” a new place, I “discover” it’s already being demolished. Sad.
