Can you combine multiple sub-par explores to make one decent thread? (Part 1)

1. The Hamilton Trip:

My ghost hunting, alien believing, conspiracy theorist friend wanted to check out a certain psych. building because he says "it's haunted." We didn't get in, but we did find this place:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

7.

I wouldn't consider this place sub-par because I have next to no industrial/commercial explores under my belt but others may find it less than exciting.

After discovering the significance of this building, I was pretty bummed that this was all that was left.

2. The Angel House:

With a heat score rating of 8, I had to park 3k away and walk down the shoulder of a well travelled road in November during a pandemic. So when I finally got to the house, I was a little disappointed with the lack of furnishings and other items of interest:

8.

9.

10.

11.

12.

13.

I did get some enjoyment out of the view from that window. The moon was just waking up in the distance.

3. Left Feeling Empty

Massive old house with lots of spacious rooms but it was completely empty. At this point in the day, I'd seen enough broken plaster and peeling paint but this mural was a nice one off:

14.

15.

16.

4. The Motomaster House

A few interesting items from the past:

17.

18.

19.

20.

21.

22.

23.

24.

25.

I have another 20+ shots from 4 more locations so I will do a part B.

Definitely a nice collection here. You make it sound very boring, but at least visually the first location looks pretty cool. You obviously shot it well. Can't wait for part 2.

It's not that it's boring, but rather, it's missing 95% of what used to be there. It was once the Studebaker assembly plant. The disappointing part is what could have been.

Thanks for the comment!

Not boring at all. I liked the industrial location the best. Thanks for sharing.

Good ol' ghost hunting, alien believing, conspiracy theorist friends! I recently was poking around a building with some people in preparation for an explore, and I was explaining what urban exploration was when one of the guys started asking and talking about ghosts and such, kinda caught me off guard but hey! People can believe what they want I suppose

I like the set!

Edit: I meant to include it, that I also thought the first location was shot really well.

that bell bag comes from a period in the 80s when they were a grey plastic inner bag with a clear outer printed in blue

Nice! Thanks for the lesson.

That house had that 80's vibe when I went through it. I can't remember when but I do have that Dominion grocery bag etched in my brain from times past.

You might have the last shot of the upstairs in the "Angel House", as someone recently visited and told me that the 2nd level was no longer accessible. Unless your photos aren't old and they were wrong?

When I went into that room, I thought for sure that I had finally found a dead human body. The smell hit me like a wall. It turned out to be a dead turkey vulture sprawled across the reclining chair.

Access is super tight and that turkey vulture creeped me right out. Why do animals die in abandoned houses?

Anyone have a theory?

Did anyone found feces or sign the living bird might have left? Maybe it was brought there, human or other animals.

I think it's just easy shelter. Animals are generally creatures of opportunity.
It may as well be a cave or tree hollow....

Wut... is that dead thing?!

I love your thread! And I really dig your idea. I have a lot of smaller explores I never post because I feel like... they aren't solo thread worthy. I might just jump on this train and post a combo thread like this soon. Yours is awesome!

But really. Did that dead thing smell?

Thanks for the feedback and I hope to see your combo thread soon.

The dead guy is a turkey vulture according to Ground State. I have a -10 rating when it comes to Zoology so I will take his word. However, I have a super human sense of smell and didn't catch a whiff at all. He's pretty dried out and preserved in that picture.

Very nice. I wouldn't consider any of these "sub par" at all! I'm a HUGE fan of the angel house!

That's a big no for me. I still get spooked by dead things and stay as far away from them if I do decide to take a shot.
