~ Still Mystery ~

Might be strange things happening worldwide, but for me this seems to be ordinary spring – I’m going around old places. This might be my all time favorite one. My first time were at 2009 and to the 2019 I’ve get there 17 times, so this was my 18th visit.

Might sound strange, but every time I get there I wish that door would be locked and completely missing window would be closed. But no. Only change did happen few years ago when first idiot(s) did get there and cause little chaos.

This Cold, Silent Spring:

Endless Days of Waiting:

Red:

Kitchen Stillness:

Oblivion (in Details):

Visions from the Dark Dreams:

I’ll Wait Forever:

Red and Green:

Beauty in Decay:

This Amazing, Untouched Past:

Red Dreams:

Old Times:

Getting Older:

Modern Times:

Touch of Eternal Light:

Top Shot:

When Chaos Gets In:

Silent Soldiers in Black and White:

Waiting Still:

Getting Old:

Still Mystery:

Save Faithfully:

-----

And today’s off-topic-bonus-photo comes from last saturday morning, when it was – SURPRISE!!! – snowing again. I did decide to finally get snowfall photos from some ”lonely” trees. Good idea, except 30 kilometers later snowing was almost completely ended. One shot anyway:

Fun weekend for everyone!

I really like the Kitchen Stillness picture...I can see an old lady or man sitting there drinking a cup of coffee looking out the window.

That drawer spread out on the floor reminds me of my own observations in the Kujanpää family estate. I wonder if they found anything worth taking?

Once again, Wolfheart, this series conveys the haunting stillness of a place frozen in time, as if still awaiting the return of its occupants after more than a decade.

You attention to details and artefacts lends a personality, not just to the house but to its former occupants. And the diffused light of overcast days softens the edges of the interiors and probably makes the ambiance all the more compelling.

Fortunately, the idiot(s) you speak of seem to have caused only relatively minor damage. I've seen very few long-abandoned houses that are in anywhere near this condition.

Very well said... in that house there is everywhere that same feel all around. I'm happy if I did get that mood even one shot... so thank you very, very much!

I've wonder same too, but that's another mystery - I've never looked any drawers etc. I really live that "leave only footprints" thing (and even trying to avoid that because footprints ruin photos too).

By the way, do you know anything about Kujanpää's today situation? Does it still exist?

Yeah, it really feels so unreal... like they would return at any moment. So amazing how place like this even can exist... but I'm so glad that they do.

I'm so happy if you feel so. For me those places are like everything that once were... so getting even some of it to some photos is more than I can ask.

Yeah, this is one of a kind place for me too. Mostly I fear that when one idiot find way in... will there be sooner more of them coming to create chaos and break windows etc? Especially few last years it have seem to be way at here that you see photos from somewhere... and soon 10 other people's photos from same place... and soon after that they get completely ruined or at least closed because too many visitors. One reason why I act like complete bastard and never share any locations even with friends. But luckily it looks that maybe this was just one visit kind of thing... and I really wish it will stay so. This is so rare time machine after all.

Looking at last Friday's Sentinel-2 photographs, I'd say the main building is still there. However, it's hard to tell as it's only a few pixels wide with that resolution.

In my 2005 photographs and Google StreetView, the building was all grey. However, in Google Earth's satellite photograph from 2018 it looks almost as if it has been painted red with white corner boards.

Furthermore, in Karttapaikka there appears to be a path going through the plot into the door.

Perhaps I'll do a drive-by over the Easter. I'm going to that part of the country anyway.

I wouldn't mind marking this place as "renovated" in the database...

Yeah, it kind of looks like it could have been renovated. Pretty nice if it have been saved... but we'll see after your drive by.

Yeah, looks like it has been painted. However, it doesn't look like a full restoration. I think the window in the end of the building is still broken.

I also found a number of "new abandoned houses" within a nautical mile from the one I drove by - never knew these existed...

Amazing Untouched Past~ Truly IS amazing! That picture definitely looks like someone still lives there. Even the boards on the ceiling still look good in that part of the house. Stunning picture!

Yeah, guess how strange it feels to get in there... especially with that "my first time were at 2009" thing. One word that always comes in to my mind is... amazing.
