I'm fortunate enough to live in a townhouse built in 2001 so you can imagine the quality architectural design that went into it. But it's the people inside it that makes it such a nice home.
My sister lives in a century home in Goderich and I love it. The floors, walls and doorways all slope but it has more character than any modern home builder will ever produce.
But, just like vintage snowmobiles, you're constantly fixing something and her pockets are a little deeper than mine....lol.

So this sits on a sideroad that was plowed nicely that morning. The laneway is pretty short so it wasn't a long walk. Walking around the property was a little tricky but doable.
My snow boots are consistently 3 inches too short no matter where I go and I end up with wet pants below the knees.
Totally worth it though as I had a lot of fun at this one!

lol! I've been "working" on a 1980 John Deere Spitfire with a 340 Kawi free air. It's been sitting in the garage since 2015.
I just rent once a year instead now. So much easier on my back.

What a great spot. Probably a good idea that you didn't get any shots from upstairs, haha. There was a house similar to this one in the Niagara region many years back that explorer Doom VS firmly believed was only explorable because the wet rot was frozen and temporarily holding the house together for the winter. Of all the shots, I think the most memorable one is the ride-on horse with all the snow piled on it.

Great shots. I love old houses like this! For a while I lived in an old house that was converted into units. I had 2 floors, with a steep narrow staircase (definitely not to code) and peaked ceilings upstairs (which i constantly cracked my head on). The house was in a mining town, and the years of blasting had left it completely wonky - each room sloped in a different direction.. it was impossible to hang pictures or curtains because things always looked crooked. So much character! Loved it!

I HATE the winter and I haven't done any exploring since the weather was a bit nicer.. but I absolutely love the snow in #1. That's a wallpaper quality shot right there

Thank you for the comment! I enjoy the summer a lot but I hate trudging through weeds and grass....not to mention the potential for ticks.
The cold weather and snow can be challenging but I have always loved snow-covered fields in the winter. Aside from April and November rain, I'm game for exploring in any weather.

I saw your pic of the kitchen and the open doorway and had an immediate sense of deja vu. I felt so much like I had been there, but there's no way I would have crossed that weak kitchen floor. Then I noticed the decrepit tent remains underneath the Godfather horse, and it was a clincher: I had to go searching for a directory on my HD.
Sure enough, the photos matched... though I don't know how in the world I missed that amazing fireplace! I must have been so taken by the tent and the fact that someone had been squatting in the house that I walked right by it and either didn't even notice it or didn't think to give it your photographic treatment.
The hole certainly got bigger. This was in summer of 2018.
Aha! And here's irrefutable proof that I am an idiot.
I remember now that I came in through the back. I must have stood at this exact spot bridging the divide between the kitchen and the living room and been afraid to budge for fear of going through the floor. I didn't go a step further into either room and didn't even notice the stone arch of the fireplace, despite standing right beside it.
My fav shot was this little throwback-to-youth on the way up the driveway.
Now I am interested where your other house is, as the whole point of coming out this way was indeed to check out all the properties that the windfarm picked up. If you're interested in checking out this area again, we should trade off coordinates and see what each other may have missed.
My last comp of this place was an artsy-fartsy edit that fell into place after I got home and realized I had way too much blue bleeding into this exterior. It looked terrible, and after fooling around with it endlessly, I settled on this final look.

Yes, that hole seems to be growing. I like the summer shots and the one from a far is excellent. The barn has fallen victim to gravity but you can still walk through the lower foundation.
