Last July I got the chance to explore an abandoned drug rehabilitation clinic in Chicago. Converted from a former all- girls boarding school, this inpatient clinic served the most impoverished members of the community until its closure due to budget cuts in 2010. The front entrance featured an absolutely stunning white marble staircase, though it would have been even nicer without all the debris covering it. Cool! I like the last picture of the chandelier.

Nice pics! I love the outdoor shot, I always like when we can get a sense of scale of what people are exploring. Almost a sad place though, with those photographs in #6, and those books which I'm sure will slowly rot. So it goes!

Nice!! Love the exterior

This is a neat looking place; I like those long-suffering encyclopedias in #5, and I wonder what the mural in #8 looked like originally...I can just make out the smiley face. Thanks for sharing!

Great stuff dude. Really neat spot!

Stunning find. Amazing that it's as untouched yet decayed as much as it has. Shit doesn't stay clean for a month in this city, let alone 10 years.

Wow so cool, thank you for sharing. Any controlled substances in there (just out of curiosity)?

As a recovering addict, this one is especially intense for me, in a good way and an eerie/sad way. That shirt with all the writing on it has people's clean dates on it. I wonder, how many of them are still clean now? I heard that something like 10% of addicts die clean. Odds are not in our favor. Some of the folks who signed that shirt are probably dead now. Thank you for posting this set. I really like the unique story here.

Yeah, I was extremely surprised that there was almost no graffiti or signs of vandalism, especially as this was in the very heart of the South Side in the middle of a residential neighborhood.

Not that I found, aside from whatever those pills were. By and large I was more focused on the thousands of patient files left behind though- they contained a scary amount of HIPAA protected information- names, DOB, addresses, diagnoses, prescriptions, therapy notes, addictions treatments-everything

I did not know that about the shirt, thanks for the information. It's been so long since it shut down so I can't imagine the odds were in many of their favors, though I hope they were able to stay clean.

| files of any kind always fascinate me! This looks to be an amazing explore.

Great pics. I shot here in 2017 and it has pretty much stayed the same, which is impressive despite YouTubers.

Also, that chandelier shot is amazing. Loved that stairwell.

So beautiful, nice job! Did they finally fix the sink hole out front? I couldn't go there for months because the construction crews were literally out front lol

They must have, there wasn't a sinkhole when I went so I guess it's fixed.

I am yet to go to a big institutional place like this (A school, asylum, ect) but it definitely one of my dreams. You're really good at what you do man, all your photos are fire.
We're new here and to the forum scene in general, any etiquette pointers are appreciated. Stay scary! |
