On June 19th, Lisa MacLeod, minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, announced the province will be investing in Niagara Falls tourism by redeveloping the William Birch Rankine Power Generating Station into a tourist attraction. Phase 1 is expected to open July 2021. https://torontosun...tourist-attraction

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you. |

As much as my first thought with these sorts of things is "well that kinda ruins the fun", this is actually so super awesome.

As they should! Look at how popular the Scarborough Water Treatment plant is -- it gets thousands of visitors every year (even when you can't get inside) and hundreds if not thousands over the duration of Doors Open. This will be a great opportunity for the region. Bless.

Way cool. There's a similar-vintage power station on the Saint Lawrence just upriver from Montreal that's open for public tours. Well worth a visit if you're ever in the neighbourhood. http://www.hydroqu...e/beauharnois.html
It's great to be alive! |

Ive seen that! That's super cool, taht plant is so historic and so well preserved. I had the chance to explore it last year before they installed a new security system. I cant believe they will have tour in the tailrace too, in 2022!! There is a part of me that is sad for the fact that our "secret" place will now be mainstream, but it's better than it beaing sealed off! There is still confluence next door for the explorers

Holyshit! Okay. I had the place on my list, but didn't have a chance to do what I wanted to do this year because of the pandemic in the first place. I had seen several photos before, but the place looks even crazier on the video you shared. Thank you!
