I'm really excited about this launch! I wouldn't call myself a huge space nerd, but I am a huge space flight / exploration supporter. So many good things have come out of the R&D of the space programs, both NASA and private. These are exciting times for space exploration. Who else is planning on watching? Who else is interested in space? I'm old enough that I've watched every US manned launch although I don't remember a lot about the earliest Mercury launches. I'm not planning to miss this one! Super stoked! Interestingly enough SpaceX already signed a deal with a private company (Axiom) to fly three very rich customers along with a captain in the Crew Dragon next year. They'll be spending two days in transit each way, and get 8 days on the ISS. The price hasn't been disclosed, but it's likely somewhere around the $55 million per chair that NASA will be spending sending astronauts in the Crew Dragon (as opposed to the $85 mill per astronaut contracted to the Russians). Super excited to see this launch as well as how it'll change private space access in the future.
